TAIPEI : Taiwanese actress Shu Qi is afraid to go home lately.
Not because she is worried about crazed stalkers but because her family members have stepped up their efforts to set her up with men.
"My family and friends keep arranging matchmaking sessions for me, so much so that I am afraid to go home," said Shu during a promotional event for her new film "If You Are the One 2" on Monday.
"I'm also very afraid of going out for tea with other people. For now, I just don't think there is a need for any matchmaking. Everything is up to fate."
Shu revealed that she had been on so many matchmaking dates that she has devised a cunning plan to handle such sessions – always bring along a friend and introduce any uninteresting dates to her instead.
"If I am suddenly asked to go for a meal [with a prospective suitor] I will bring along a friend who is dying to get married.
"Just recently, one of them hit it off [with her date] after spending an afternoon together," said Shu before admitting with a laugh that she would ditch her friend if she likes her date.
The 34-year-old actress pointed out that she preferred to go on a group vacation with some friends and her prospective suitor to see if any sparks fly between them, instead of going on deliberate matchmaking sessions.

Shu Qi's next to be released movie, titled "Beautiful Life" in English, has started promotions. Several promotional stills as well as the first poster featuring Shu Qi and Liu Ye in a romantic hug have been posted all over the Internet. In the film, Shu plays a Hong Kong woman named Li Peiru who goes to Beijing for fortune and meets a local policeman named Fang Zhendong (Liu Ye). They fall in love, but Li dumps Fang after she spends all his savings. After Li returns to Hong Kong, she realizes that she cannot forget Fang. She goes back to Beijing just to find out Fang suffers from Alzheimer's. Nevertheless, Li decides to marry him and their life together begins despite many difficulties. When she discovers she is pregnant, she keeps a diary for him, so that the baby will know who his father is after he is born.On one rainy day, he is out walking and forgets the road home. By the time he is eventually admitted to the hospital, he is already terminally ill and cannot even remember his own name...
Actress Shu Qi from "If You are the One" plays opposite "He-Man" lead Liu Ye in the film.
Yu Dong, President of film distributor Bona Film Group, said on Sunday that the movie resembled the 1996 film "Tian Mi Mi" ("Almost A Love Story").
In "Mei Li Ren Sheng," Li Peiru (Shu Qi) drifts to Beijing from Hong Kong to make a living but ends up falling in love with Fang Zhendong (liu Ye), a local policeman. Shu Qi plays an opportunist who takes advantages of Liu Ye for financial gain.
Other actors in the cast include Anthony Wang, Tian Liang and Sa Ri Na.
The film will be released on May 20.
Shu Qi took a three days break from her schedule to attend her very good friend's, Kelly Lin, wedding in Malvides. There were no grooms-men at the wedding, with Kelly Lin's close friend, Taiwan-born Hong Kong actress Shu Qi being the closest thing to a bridesmaid at the wedding.
"I hope that she will be happy. We can still be best sisters forever," Shu Qi told reporters.
She also admitted that she was a "very unfashionable person" and had given the newly-weds a pair of traditional 'Dragon Phoenix' gold bracelets as a wedding gift (there is a pic of Shu showing off the bracelets posted into the gallery/Personal Photos.)
While Shu Qi did not say much, her wedding card spoke volumes of her thoughts on her best friend’s nuptials.
"I really can't bear to let you spend the rest of your life with another person. You must know that I am holding back tears and putting up with the pain to leave you in the hands of someone who loves you even more," wrote the actress, who took three flights from her filming location just to attend Lin's wedding.
I have uploaded into the gallery several pictures of Shu with the couple, and her best friend Kelly Lin. I have also updated a couple of additional Personal Photos of Shu.
I have also posted the first trailer of upcoming movie "A Beautifu Life". Check it out!

Several brand new promotional stills of "Beautiful Life" have been leaked. With only a few weeks to go, Shu will soon start promotional activities for the movie. For the time being enjoy the updates on her "Personal Photos", stills and also her Maysu pictorial/ads
However, the actress was spotted in a nightclub in Taipei, Taiwan with director Doze Niu. Shu Qi's rumoured boyfriend and actor/singer Eddie Peng later joined the pair. According to the tabloid, Doze was merely there as a decoy.
Eddie's management company replied to the rumour, "She's [Shu Qi] Eddie's 'super goddess', there's nothing going on between them."
It is believed that Shu Qi and Eddie met two years ago in Thailand, where they visited the White Dragon King. The two hit it off immediately.
In 2009, when Eddie debuted as a singer, he specially invited Shu Qi to be the female lead in his music video. It was said that Eddie did not hide his affections for the actress.

Shu has previously starred in Eddie Peng's debut music video "Must Love" (click to watch).Eddie, who is six years younger than Shu, has also called Shu Qi his "super goddess", and even though his management company has denied their relationship, it is quite possible that Shu is really in a relationship with Eddie.
On another note, Shu has done a fashion editorial spread for April issue of Vogue China, and even though she is not on the cover, she is featured inside the magazine. I have updated the gallery with the first Vogue China outtakes, as well as promotional stills and BTS pictures of "New York I love you" (an older movie Shu played in), some personal photos of Shu as well as the fourth official poster for the soon to be released "Beautiful Life" and many new promotional stills for the movie.
On April 10, Shu attended a charitable event in Grand Century Place in Hong Kong. The event was a fund raising auction of autographed pictures of "Beautiful Life" and it was attended by Shu Qi herself, Liu Ye and "Beautiful Life" director Andrew Lau and during the event Shu Qi and Liu ye also accepted media interviews. I have posted pictures of the event in the photo gallery as well as some new personal pictures of Shu. I will later on upload several videos in the Video Gallery, so stay tuned.
I have fixed the videos problem and I have also added many trailers of almost all Shu's older movies. I will later on this month complete the trailers channel with trailers of all of her movies. I have also added a behind the scenes video of Shu filming Wang Lee Hom's music video "At First Dawn" (First Morning) as well as the opening scene of "Millenium Mambo". Please, enjoy everybody, and I hope you all like the new banner!
A couple of days ago, Shu attended the first press conference of "Beautiful Life" in Beijing. During the event, the presenter was very excited to ask from Liu Ye and Shu to recreate the image of Beautiful Life's "kissing" poster. Even though hesitant, Shu finally gave in. I have posted the video of this particular moment into the Videos gallery. Photos of the event have been posted into the gallery, as well as more Personal Photos (in the new album) and more promotional stills and another poster for "Beautiful Life". Shu will soon be attending at least two more press meetings before the premiere of "Beautiful Life".
Recently (on April 14) Shu appeared on the popular Chinese talk show "Date with Lu Yu" along with Liu Ye and director Andrew Lau. She has also attended a special event "A lifetime of joy", for which I haven't found any information yet. The gallery has been updated with new stills of "Beautiful Life", photos of the event and the talk show.
Yesterday night. Shu went out to celebrate in Beijing after the first press conference of "Beautiful Life". Since Shu's birthday is on April 16th, it was thought to be an early birthday party, too. The "party" was attended by Andrew Lau, Liu Ye and his wife, Ding Sheng, Tian Liang, popular actor Shawn Yue and some others. Shu also posed for a photo with Liu Ye's son (Liu Ye is her co-star in "Beautiful Life").
I will post a more elaborate article for what was said on "Date with Lu Yu" later tomorrow.

He exchanges intimate micro blog posts with Shu Qi, was spotted chatting her up on a few occasions and described the 35-year-old Taiwan actress as "very charismatic" and "a good girl" when he met the Taiwan media on Sunday.
But Hong Kong singer-actor Shawn Yue, 29, insisted that he was not romancing her.
"I'm not so lucky," said Yue with a laugh during a promotional event for his new album "Not A Star".
"Hopefully, everyone will let her (Shu Qi) off. For guys, it is not a problem but when the media links Shu Qi to Eddie Peng one moment then says she is with Shawn Yue the next, this is not very good for the lady."
"We are really just good friends."
Are they really just friends?
Despite his statements to the contrary, many netizens remain convinced that there is something going on between the two stars.
They cite how Yue, who seldom interacts with his other female friends online, had recently conversed with Shu Qi on eight occasions via their micro blogs as proof.
Netizens further pointed out that Shu Qi immediately posted a message in April to check how Yue is feeling, when he said on his micro blog that he had a fever, suggesting that Shu Qi cared for Yue quite a bit.
For Hong Kong actress Shu Qi, age is just a number.
Wearing a pink blouse and a mini-skirt, Shu Qi was seen chatting and laughing away with her co-star Liu Ye at the Beijing premiere of her new movie A Beautiful Life. The actress even hugged guest star Ge You passionately when she met him.
Apart from her soaring career, her love life also seemed to be blossoming, with recent rumours of her relationship with Taiwanese actor Eddie Peng and Hong Kong actor Shawn Yu.
Commenting on her relationship with Eddie, Shu Qi said that "he is a nice boy, who deserves a nice girl; but I'm a woman".
"(There are) no boundaries when it comes to love. Anything is possible in this world," the actress said during an interview on May 9, hinting that she did not mind dating someone who is younger.
Earlier on, Shu Qi and Shawn were caught flirting on microblogging site Weibo, where the couple called each other "darling".
When asked to comment on her relationship with Shawn, Shu Qi coyly replied, "take a guess," fuelling speculations about their relationship.
However, Shawn denied there was anything between him and Shu Qi in an interview, saying that his relationship with Shu Qi was " there is no relationship".
"It's all right to spread rumours about men, but it's really not good for the ladies. Shu Qi is a nice girl, so it's really not right to be spreading [rumours] like this," Shawn added.
On June 5th, Shu Qi attended the press "birthday party" of organization "Earth Angel". Shu, who is also an embassador of the organization also gave a speech as well as media interviews. Pictures of the event have been uploaded into the gallery (here), as well as a link to a media interview. I have also uploaded the gallery with promotional pictorial of "Beautiful Life" as well as Personal Photos of her.
After returning from her vacations to Taiwan, Shu Qi has been busy filming for her next romantic movie, currently titled "LOVE". In addition to filming, she recently attended an Emporio Armani fashion event in Hong Kong where she appeared in a chic and fashionable outfit. I have updated the gallery with several photos of the event, as well as additional photo of Shu's vacations and various magazines' photoshoots' outtakes. Enjoy! (Link to the gallery: Click here)
The ex-couple was spotted holding hands while taking a stroll down the streets of New York
Taiwanese actress Shu Qi and singer Lee Hom broke up three years ago.
However, the couple was recently spotted holding hands while taking a stroll down the street s of New York. They even took the same flight from New York to Hong Kong.
Last month, when Lee Hom visited his parents in New York, Shu Qi posted a map, which showed the journey from Hong Kong to New York, on her microblog.
The picture was accompanied by a caption, "Is a 15-hour flight very long? No, it's not. It's just a footprint away." This caused speculations that Shu Qi hinted that she had gone over to New York with Lee Hom and that it was a declaration of their relationship.
According to a Taiwanese tabloid, when Lee Hom arrived in Taiwan from Dalian on Jul 30, Shu Qi drove her brother's car to the singer's residence and spent the night there. The actress left at noon the next day.
Shu Qi responded to the reports, calling them "extremely absurd", and said that the magazine was making up stories.
On the other hand, Lee Hom's recording company emphasised that the two of them were just friends.
In 2005, Shu Qi and Lee Hom met on the set of the singer's music video 'The First Morning' and fell in love. After dating for three years, the couple broke up when Lee Hom stood the actress up for unknown reasons, which caused their overseas trip to be cancelled.

Yesterday, on the Chinese Valentine's Day, Shu Qi attended a special event supported by the Frederique Constant Geneve watch brand, for the Children's Heart Foundation. Wearing a colorful summer dress, Shu played around with the kids and was naturally bombared with questions regarding the rumors of her getting back with Wang Leehom. Shu Qi denied the rumors once again and added that due to being extremely busy, she didn't have the chance to love a person in the past. I have uploaded photos of the event into the gallery as well as various personal photos of Shu.
